# Understanding the image dimensions necessary for Google and Apple passes

## Overview

When you create mobile wallet passes for Apple or Google Wallet, you'll need to provide images in specific sizes. This guide will show you exactly what dimensions to use for each platform. You can find the templates at the end of this guide.

We'll cover the image specs for:

- Apple Wallet DESFire + HID passes
- Apple Wallet QR passes
- Google Wallet HID passes
- Google SmartTap + QR passes

Each platform has its own requirements. Using the wrong image sizes will cause your passes to look incorrect or fail to load entirely.

## Apple Wallet image requirements

### **Apple Wallet DESFire + HID**

Apple Wallet uses several different image types. Here's what you need:

**Icons**

Icons show up in the push notifications of your pass. The image needs to be in the following dimensions:

- 100 × 100 pixels
- 200 × 200 pixels

**Background images**

The background image is what fills your entire pass. The image needs to be in the following dimensions:

- 1536 × 969 pixels
- 764 × 480 pixels
- 512 × 323 pixels

**Logo**

Your logo appears in the top left hand section of the pass. The image needs to be in the following dimensions:

- Height 283px / Width up to 1372px
- Height 140px / Width up to 684px
- Height 74px / Width up to 360px

### **Apple Wallet QR**

Apple Wallet QR code passes are precise with dimensions:

**Logo**

Your logo can be any size up to 480 pixels in width × exactly 150 pixels in height. Square images are allowed.

_File formats accepted:_
- PNG
- Max file size: 10MB

**Member photo**

Your member photo image must be exactly 320 × 320 pixels.

_File formats accepted:_
- PNG
- Max file size: 10MB

**Background image**

Your background image (for loyalty) must be exactly 1125 × 432 pixels.

## Google Wallet image requirements

Google Wallet has different requirements depending on which pass type you're using: HID or SmartTap

### **Google Wallet HID**

For standard Google passes and HID-enabled passes, here's what you need:

**Logo**

Your logo must be square. The image needs to be in any of the following exact dimensions:

- 200 × 200 pixels
- 133 × 133 pixels
- 67 × 67 pixels

_File formats accepted:_
- PNG

**Icon**

Same as the logo - must be square. The image needs to be in any of the following exact dimensions:

- 200 × 200 pixels
- 133 × 133 pixels
- 67 × 67 pixels

_File formats accepted:_
- PNG

**Background image**

Your background can be any size up to 1456 × 928 pixels.

_File formats accepted:_
- PNG

### **Google SmartTap + QR**

Google SmartTap is more flexible with dimensions:

**Logo**

Your logo can be any size up to 430 × 430 pixels. Square images work best.

_File formats accepted:_
- SVG, PNG, or JPG
- Max file size: 10MB

**Background image**

Your background can be any size up to 1032 × 336 pixels.

- PNG
